Who is Steve Ellis?

Steve Ellis is an artist, comics storyteller, writer and illustration instructor. He has won awards for his work including High Moon and The Only Living Boy with co-creator David Gallaher, as well as his work on AMC’s Breaking Bad: The high Cost of Living game. Steve has also created various and sundry illustrations and comics for Marvel, DC, Blizzard Entertainment, Wizards of the Coast and many more. He has taught drawing, illustration and comics at Syracuse University since 2004. Steve is currently at work on the world of Thornclaw Manor. The story of Melody Hawthorne, a girl who in searching for her long lost family finds herself in a world of monsters out of myths and legend. Steve currently lives in the wilds of Ithaca, NY with his wife Yamila, daughter Luna and their lovely greyhound Blossom.

Can I commission Steve for a project?

Whether it’s a full-page cover style commission, single character, blank cover, or an image of your favorite Dungeons & Dragons character, Steve is happy to work with you to create the image you want of the character you love.

I’d like Steve to appear/speak/present for my group or event. What are the fees involved?

Within 1 hours of Ithaca NY, $500

Within 3 hours of Ithaca NY, $700

Outside that region, $1000 per day plus travel expenses. $700 each additional day. Contact Steve for a negotiated rate or additional details.

A day of talks can be up to 6 hours, with a 1 hour break time after 3 hrs. Sessions can be at different schools and libraries in a local area.

Does Steve hold any online or virtual talks?

Steve loves to do virtual talks for free with book groups, classes and libraries. Please contact him about his schedule. You are strongly encouraged to test this format with your tech beforehand, to ensure you’ve addressed any issues that would make for a difficult experience for your group.
